As a major national broadcasting organization, our client had some very complex challenges in reducing their network expenses. With hundreds of locations needing advanced, high speed, voice, data and video connectivity our client needed help. After completing a 6-month, expensive and extensive RFP process, our client had several bids with different terminology, pricing methods and options. Given our track record and deep subject matter expertise, our client turned to Optelcon. One client was having difficulty determining their service inventory how much each component cost. Prior to engaging Optelcon, they had spent several months with several internal analysts trying to compile this information. Using our Proprietary I.T.E.M.S.tm SAAS expense management system, we logged in to each of our clients vendor billing portals and were able to quickly import all of their billing and inventory data into our systems. Within 1 week, we were able to show our client a detailed inventory of every service they were getting billed for, their locations and other critical data. Armed with this detailed inventory, Optelcon audited their billing records against their contracted rates and discovered thousands in overcharges. Optelcon's network engineers also reviewed the network design and identified several areas where our client had less than optimal configurations. With our clients detailed service and pricing data, Optelcon was quickly able to compare their current and proposed new costs against our industry pricing database. We quickly identified that their current vendor had offered other like size clients significantly better rates. The incumbent vendor let the client know that they felt they could charge them a significant premium due to the hassle and challenges of switching vendors. They were wrong. Within 30 days, Optelcon was able to negotiate a 34% and $500,000 cost reduction from their incumbent vendor. |
